These terms explain Riverwood Select's current sales process. More detailed information specific to a vehicle, part-exchange, deposit or warranty will be provided before an agreement is made. Nothing here removes a consumer's statutory rights.
Website and vehicle information
This website introduces Riverwood Select and links to our current Auto Trader listings. We take reasonable care to keep descriptions, photographs, prices, mileage, specification, history and availability accurate. Vehicle information should nevertheless be confirmed before you agree to buy, and any correction or material information identified will be explained before the sale is completed.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for a vehicle that is not as described or otherwise limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
No remote vehicle sales
Riverwood Select does not currently conclude vehicle sales through this website, by email or by telephone. Website content, advertisements, enquiries and appointment arrangements do not create a vehicle-sale contract.
A retail sale is agreed in person at our premises after the customer has had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle and the vehicle-specific paperwork and terms have been completed.
Refundable reservations before viewing
You can reserve an available car for £250 for a maximum of five calendar days from our confirmation. The payment is fully refundable if you cancel before viewing or decide not to proceed at your appointment. If the reservation expires without a viewing or purchase agreement, we release the car and refund the payment. A reservation does not create a vehicle-sale contract. See our reservation terms for full details.
Deposits after viewing
After inspecting a vehicle in person and deciding to proceed, a customer may pay a deposit so that Riverwood Select removes the vehicle from sale. The amount, balance-payment date and vehicle-specific conditions will be confirmed before payment.
If the customer later chooses not to proceed for reasons unrelated to any breach by Riverwood Select, the deposit is non-refundable to the extent of Riverwood Select's reasonable losses and costs arising from the cancellation. A deposit will be returned where Riverwood Select cannot complete the agreed sale or where the law otherwise requires a refund.
Used vehicles and consumer rights
Our vehicles are used, so age, price, recorded mileage, condition, history and other relevant circumstances are taken into account when assessing quality. Every retail vehicle must still be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose made known and match its description, as required by law.
Terms such as “sold as seen” do not apply to our consumer retail sales. Your statutory rights are not replaced or reduced by a warranty, inspection, test drive, deposit or anything written on this website.
Warranty
Every retail vehicle includes warranty cover for 3 months or 3,000 miles from handover, whichever occurs first, subject to the written warranty terms supplied with the vehicle. Longer cover may be available. Please see our Warranty & Aftercare page for the claims process and important information.
The warranty is an additional benefit. It does not replace, shorten or restrict statutory rights against Riverwood Select as the selling dealer, and expiry or exclusion under the warranty does not by itself determine whether a customer has a valid statutory claim.
Part-exchange vehicles
Any initial part-exchange figure is subject to inspection, accurate mileage and condition information, satisfactory provenance and title checks, and confirmation of any outstanding finance. We may revise or withdraw a valuation if relevant information is inaccurate or the vehicle's condition changes before handover.
Payment and collection
The purchase price and any agreed balance must be received in cleared funds before a vehicle is released. We may require appropriate identification and proof of address. Collection arrangements and any work agreed before handover will be recorded as part of the vehicle-specific agreement.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without affecting any mandatory rights a consumer has under the law applying where they live. We may update these website terms when our services or legal obligations change; the version published when you use the site will apply to that use.
